In addition to air-conditioning installation, we also provide air-conditioning repair. Here are 5 common causes of air-conditioner problems we repair and provide installation services for:
Thermostat problems – Thermostat problems are a very common troubleshooting issue many people encounter. Whether you have a new digital thermostat or a traditional thermostat (which requires manual adjustments), if it is set incorrectly, it would need to be adjusted. Hiring a professional is highly recommended for this job.
Leaking ducts – Leaking ducts will cause your air-conditioner to work harder than it should. As a result, your energy bills will increase. When this happens, this means there could be cracks or holes within the ductwork. Ducts run throughout the walls. When they break, all of your cool comfortable air seeps out inside the walls instead of pushing out through the air-conditioner unit.
Low refrigerant – The refrigerant is what your air conditioner uses to eliminate the humidity and heat from the air in your home or building. If your air-conditioner has leaks within the refrigerant lines, there is a possibility you may not have a sufficient amount of refrigerant to cool the air.
Repair for this type of problem goes beyond replacing the refrigerant. You will need a skilled HVAC repair person to come out and inspect your air-conditioner to detect any air leaks or holes within the refrigerant lines. Patience is required because this job can be a very costly, labor-intensive process — especially, if multiple leaks are discovered.
Clogged drains – When your air conditioner gets rid of moisture from the air, in order for it to push out cool air efficiently, it must go through a disposal process. In other words, it must be removed by a drain line and down a drain. However, when a drain gets clogged up, the excess water will get backed up and completely damage your AC.
This is a common problem that should be rectified immediately. Otherwise, water leaks could wreak havoc on your ceilings, walls, and even your furniture — causing mold growth. Don’t hesitate in getting this fixed!
Fan problems – Ignoring fan problems could possibly lead to compressor failure, and completely ruin your air-conditioner. There are two types of fans — one that blows air over a condenser unit to get rid of the absorbed heat outside of a home (or building). The second fan is one that blows indoor air across your unit’s evaporator coil to cool down the air.
When one of these fans stops working you will ultimately experience poor airflow and air conditioning problems, which can lead to a permanent breakdown.
As a result, you will need to replace your air-conditioner.
